'No bloody raid on MV Abdullah, peaceful talks going on'


Foreign Minister Dr. Hashan Mahmud said that there is no bloody operation to rescue the Bangladeshi ship MV Abdullah, which is under the control of Somali pirates, but peaceful negotiations are going on.

He said this to the journalists after the exchange of views regarding the implementation of the development program of the government in Chittagong district on Saturday (March 23) at Chittagong Circuit House Auditorium.

Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud said that the MV Abdullah held hostage in Somalia is not only a ship, but also contains valuable coal worth crores of rupees. As these coals are flammable materials, there is a danger of explosion at any time.

Stating that there are 23 officers of various levels on the ship, the Foreign Minister said that it is most important to protect them. And so there is no option to proceed peacefully. The minister also said that they will be brought back to the country very soon.

State Minister for Finance Waseka Ayesha Khan, State Minister for Labor Nazrul Islam Chowdhury were present at this time.
