No one can write doctor without MBBS-BDS

Must pass MBBS and BDS to use doctor title before name. Otherwise, no one can use the title of doctor (Dr.) said the Ministry of Health.

At the same time, all concerned are requested not to be confused by the rumors regarding the use of the title of Doctor (Dr.).

This information was informed in a circular sent by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday (August 20).

It is said there, 'According to the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council Act, 2010, MBBS and BDS passers, except for Dr. Can't use last name. No officer of BM&DC has power to alter or amend this Act. Only the National Parliament has the power to change or amend this Act.'

“In such a situation, all concerned are requested not to be confused by the rumors regarding the use of the title of Doctor (Dr.).”

Meanwhile, in 2021, the High Court also ruled that no one except MBBS-BDS degree holders can use the title of Doctor (Dr.).
