Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) said, after the fall of the Awami League government, occupation has started in all places including the administration. As a result, there is a danger of establishing an authoritarian government again.

He made these comments at a press conference at Dhanmondi in the capital on Wednesday (August 28).

TIB organized this press conference on new Bangladesh – anti-corruption, democracy and good governance. In response to a question, Iftekharuzzaman severely criticized the occupation after August 5. He said, those who think themselves to be politically beneficial, they immediately went to the state of grabbing various trusts, grabbing land. Starting from local administration, political space, government space, high-level secretariat appointments, etc., many have logical reasons to think that the whole issue is going to a place of apprehension that whether an authoritarian government is really going to fall and another party rule is going to be established.

The TIB executive also warned about the activities of various political parties and forces. He said, there is no hesitation to say that more and more different types of political power, different types of political power are developing and unfolding. They are alarming for us. Especially in terms of the equality rights of citizens, the right of all citizens to have the same position, there are many elements to resist the dream of our egalitarian society, but we can see, which is alarming to me.

The TIB also expressed apprehension about the future of the recently filed cases, including anarchy in the court arena.
