OC's signature fake police salary allowance, ACC case

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against the same police station's Constable Jewel Ahmed on charges of embezzling Tk.

The case was filed on August 7 at the District Office of Cox's Bazar, ACC. Anik Barua Babu, Assistant Director of the District Office of Cox's Bazar Cox's Bazar, said that a full investigation will be done in the incident. If anyone is involved, they will also be brought under the law.

According to the case, the OC Md. Joined the police station on November 27 last year. Under Elias Khan, Constable Jewel Ahmed was in charge of the register. Taking advantage of this opportunity, he embraced government money through 22 checks from November 2021 to February.

Later, after being absent from the workplace from March 25, Jewel Ahmed was arrested from Bashundhara City Complex in Dhaka on April 23. He then appeared in the Cox's Bazar Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on April 23 and made a confessional statement.

OC Md. Elias Khan said, “I don't think anyone is involved in Jewel.” However, all the information will come out in the ACC investigation. The preliminary complaint of the case states that a co -operation of Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station may also be involved in the incident.
