One person died due to burns in an explosion at Sitakunda Shipyard in Chittagong. The deceased's name is Ahmed Ullah (38). Seven more people are under treatment at National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery due to severe burns in this incident.

Ahmed Ullah died on Sunday night (September 8) while undergoing treatment.

Seven people are still receiving treatment at the National Institute of Burns and Plastic Surgery in the shipyard blast.

They are Barkat Ullah (23), Anwar Hossain (50), Al Amin (36), Jahangir Alam (48), Habib (36), Abul Kasem (39) and Khairul Islam (21). All of them have suffered 50 to 80 percent burns and all are in critical condition.

The explosion took place in the ship breaking factory named SN Corporation owned by Shaukat Ali Chowdhury located on the sea coast of Shitalpur Tentultala area of ​​Sitakunda Upazila Sonaichari Union yesterday around 12:30 noon. 12 workers were burnt and seriously injured.

In this incident, 12 people were immediately sent to Dhaka for better treatment. Eight of them were admitted to the Bern Institute.
