Six regions of the country, including the capital Dhaka, are likely to experience thunderstorms with gusts of up to 80 kmph during the night. This information was given in the weather forecast for the internal river ports of the country from 3:45 pm to 1:00 pm on Saturday (March 23).

A notification signed by Bazlur Rashid said that temporary gusty winds with a speed of 60 to 80 kilometers per hour with rain or thundershowers may blow over Pabna, Tangail, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur and Comilla regions from the west or north-west. Meanwhile, from 9:00 am on Sunday, meteorologist Kh. Hafizur Rahman said that there may be rain with temporary gusty wind or rain with thunder in one or two places of Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions. Apart from this, the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere in the country. During this time, day and night temperature may increase by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius across the country, he said.

The next day, Monday (March 25) till the same time, there may be rain with temporary gusty winds or thundershowers at some places in Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at two places in Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country during this time as well.

On the other hand, there may be temporary gusty or windy rain or rain with thunder in some places of Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and two places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions till 9 am next Tuesday (March 25). Also during this time day temperature may drop slightly across the country and night temperature may remain almost unchanged. However, the Meteorological Department has also predicted that the temperature may increase in the next 5 days.
