People's trust in BNP will not be allowed to be destroyed: Tariq Rahman

Acting Chairman of BNP Tariq Rahman said that BNP will not be allowed to perish due to the patriotism of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, the sacrifice of country leader Begum Khaleda Zia and the sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of leaders and workers. The party is uncompromising on this matter, it does not matter how high he is in the party. Recently in Chittagong and Mymensingh the party has proved it.

He said these things in the gathering of Trinamool leaders and activists of Chittagong and Barisal divisions on Tuesday (September 3). In this, the Acting Chairman gave a virtual directional speech to the leaders and activists. This program is supposed to be done consistently in all organizational departments.

Tariq Rahman said, victory is still far away, the road to success is very long. We have been in the opposition for the last 17 years and we are still today. Now is not the time for complacency. Trinamool leaders and activists have stood by the party during crises in the past like a vigilant watchman. In the future, if we understand the language of expectations of the people of Bangladesh and gain their trust and love, BNP will be able to present a new and changed Bangladesh to the people of the country.

He also said, some of us go to mosques, some to temples or pagodas or churches. Similarly, someone's festival Eid-ul-Fitr, someone's Durga Puja or Christmas or Baisabi Purnima, that is not the same identity of all of you. On the map of Bangladesh, your address may be in the mountains, some in the plains, some live in Howrah and some in a small island, or in the floodplain of the coast or next to the Sundarbans – in all cases we have the same identity, we are all Bangladeshis. Even those who try to question this identity have had to use this 'Bangladeshi' identity in the passport they used to avoid public outrage. This identity is to be used impartially by me in assessing your merits, just as it will be the same criteria for our crimes.

Tariq Rahman said, many games have been played with the minority card. As it happened in the country, it was not less outside the country. We all know that those who have repeatedly tried to take political advantage in the country and abroad to cover up their misdeeds and destabilize the country for ages by the touchy issues of this minority-statist and the fiction of torture. This old game of destroying communal harmony will not be allowed to repeat itself in this country. Let us exterminate them either by burying them, or by burning them in pyres.

He also said that the worshipers of one religion have traditionally been protected by the followers of another religion from the hands of conspirators to destroy religious harmony in this country. It has repeatedly proved that there is no such thing as minority and majority in this country. We all have one and the same identity, we are all Bangladeshis. It should be proved not only in words but also in deeds, whenever necessary. Acting Chairman advises those who capitalize on people's religious beliefs and discipline, who will do politics in religious institutions, who will question the identity of Bangladesh in the world, who will use the division of religion and caste in the politics of Bangladesh for dishonest purposes, to resist them with political wisdom united in their respective areas. Regarding the reform of the state structure, he said, about two years ago, the BNP and like-minded parties gave a 31-point program with the demand to establish the country's constitutional structure and people's rights. which is still open to correction and refinement. However, he assured that whoever brings the reform proposal, our reform proposal includes all of them.
