A man named Shibu Chandra Dey (57) died in a four-way collision between a covered van-pickup van-CNG driven autorickshaw and a motorcycle in Lakshmipur.
4 more people were injured in this incident. The deceased was the driver of the pickup van. The accident took place on the Lakshmipur-Raipur road at Dalal Bazar mile head area of Sadar Upazila around 10 am on Monday (September 2).
The deceased Shibu is the son of Pulin Bihari De of Shankharipara of Banchanagar area of Lakshmipur town. He was a truck driver of Kohinoor Chemical Company.
It is known that at the time of the incident, Shibu was going to Raipur from Lakshmipur by car. On reaching the spot, there was a collision with a covered van. At the same time, a speeding autorickshaw and a motorcycle also met with an accident. The injured including Shibu were rescued and taken to Sadar Hospital.
Shibu was declared dead by the doctor on duty at the hospital. The names of the others injured are not known.
Laxmipur Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Yachin Farooq Majumdar confirmed the matter.
