Pig kidney in the human body!

Doctors have successfully implanted the pig's kidney in the human body by genetically modifying it. And this incident happened in Massachusetts General Hospital. This is what the international organization Deutsche Welle said.

It is known that the kidney was implanted in the body of a 62-year-old patient for four hours. The person had end-stage kidney disease. That person's name is Slayman.

According to the hospital, the pig's kidney was genetically modified before being transplanted into the human body. The harmful pig gene was removed and the human gene was added.

It opened a new horizon, claims the hospital. In case of organ transplantation. Transplantation of organs from one animal to another species is called xenotransplantation.

Sleiman said he knowingly allowed the pig's kidney to be implanted in his body. Because, as a result, his chances of survival increased, and thousands of people, who need organ transplants, will also benefit from it.

Around the world, organs for transplantation are far less available than needed. According to this hospital in Boston, 1,400 patients are waiting for a kidney transplant in their hospital.

This breakthrough could bring hope to millions of patients. Dr. Tatsuyo Kawai, a member of the operation team, said, 'We hope this successful operation will give hope to millions of people around the world.'

According to the hospital, the pigs, from which the kidneys were taken, were raised separately, so that they do not get any kind of infection. The size of this pig's kidney was similar to that of a human.

Earlier, some brain dead patients were transplanted into the body with pig kidneys. But this is the first time that a pig kidney has been successfully transplanted into a living patient. Two patients had previously received pig heart transplants after genetic changes, but they did not survive more than two months.

According to the United Nations Organ Sharing Network, 100,000 people in America are waiting for an organ transplant. Among these, the highest demand is kidney transplant. Every year, thousands of people wait for a kidney transplant.
