A preparatory meeting has been organized to celebrate the historic Mujibnagar Day on April 17 in Meherpur with due dignity.
On Wednesday (March 3) afternoon in Meherpur District Commissioner's conference room, District Commissioner Shamim Hasan presided over the meeting, Superintendent of Police SM Nazmul Haque, District Awami League President Vice President Abdus Salam Bablu Biswas, District Awami League Joint General Secretary Advocate Ibrahim Shahin and officials of various departments of the district addressed the meeting. Political leaders were present.
In the preparatory meeting, various day-long programs were decided to celebrate Mujibnagar Day on April 17. The day will be observed with official hoisting of the national flag at sunrise, wreath laying at Mujibnagar Memorial by Bangladesh Awami League leaders, guard of honor and discussion meeting at Sheikh Hasina stage and cultural programs from evening onwards.
The Superintendent of Police said that security measures will be taken at several levels to maintain law and order.
