Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Kujendra Lal Tripura said, 'Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working continuously to gift the nation a smart country. He wants all races, groups, communities of Bangladesh to live under one umbrella.
He said these things while addressing the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the traditional ball game and distribution of prizes among the winners at the Khagrachari Stadium on Friday (May 17).
The state minister said, 'so that the students are school and college oriented, the government has created sports environment in all educational institutions. Apart from this, various sports activities are being conducted regularly in schools, colleges and universities. As a result, students are keeping their body and mind healthy by doing sports and various physical exercises along with studies. And all this is possible with the welfare of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Kujendra Lal Tripura said, 'Bali game is very popular among the people of Chittagong and Chittagong Hill Tracts. A player needs body strength and technique to win this game.'
Among the players who participated in the traditional ball game of Khagrachari, three were jointly champions. 36 players from different districts participated in the game. Thousands of people thronged Khagrachari Stadium to watch Bali game.
After the game, Chittagong Hill Tracts Minister of State Kujendra Lal Tripura MP distributed trophies and medals to the group stage winners including champions and runners-up.
Brigadier General Sharif Md. Khagrachari Region Commander of Bangladesh Army among others in the award ceremony. Aman Hasan, Khagrachari District Commissioner Md. Shahiduzzaman, Superintendent of Police Mukta Dhar and others were present.
