Rape case against ACC officer

A woman has filed a case of rape against Assistant Director of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) SM Mamunur Rashid.

On Monday (August 19), the case was filed in the court of Judge Shaukat Ali of Dhaka Women and Child Torture Prevention Tribunal-8.

The court accepted the statement of the plaintiff and ordered the Darussalam police station of the capital to investigate the complaint and submit a report.

Mahbub Hasan Rana, lawyer for the plaintiff, confirmed the filing of the case.

According to the complaint, they had a long-term love relationship. When Mamunur Rashid proposed marriage to the plaintiff, she agreed. However, Mamunur Rashid imposed a condition that he could not take her home until he got a marriage permit from the job. On July 16 last year at around 5 pm in the presence of two people, the accused signed a Kabinnama blue paper sitting at Savar's memorial. Said they were married. He will do the other work of the cabin himself. On July 21, they rented a house in Ashulia as husband and wife and started living together.

Meanwhile, the victim informed her family about the marriage. Mamunur Rashid got angry. He said that he will not have a relationship with him. When the victim forced the accused to take her home, Mamunur Rashid left her home on July 29, leaving her alone. On August 4, he went to the house in front of the victim's family and informed that until now he has been living as husband and wife by pretending to be married. I don't want to have a family with him. Overdoing it will leave intimate photos and videos on social media. If necessary, he will disappear and kill at any time. The plaintiff filed a case in court on September 12. Later a compromise was settled between them. Marriage is decided. The plaintiff withdrew the case. The wedding day is fixed the day after Eid al-Adha.

Last April 2 and April 4, they marketed together for marriage and spent private time. He raped the plaintiff. On August 15, the defendant informed the plaintiff that it was not possible to marry him.
