Astronomers have said that there will be a total solar eclipse on Monday. The first total solar eclipse of the year will be visible from Mexico, some US states and certain locations in Canada. Besides, a partial solar eclipse will be seen from some countries including Spain, United Kingdom, Portugal. The eclipse will not be visible from Bangladesh.
As Newsweek reports, the moon will completely cover the sun today. As a result, several states of the United States will be covered in darkness. The first and rare solar eclipse of the year has already created a stir around the world.
According to scientists, the specialty of Monday's eclipse is its durability. This reception will last for a relatively long time. The sun will be completely covered by the shadow of the moon for four consecutive minutes, which has never happened in any eclipse in the last 50 years. The outer layer of the sun, the corona, will be clearly visible for four minutes during the eclipse, scientists said.
The solar eclipse will begin Monday morning over the Pacific Ocean. After Mexico and America, Canada and the North Atlantic will cross in the afternoon. On this day, a partial solar eclipse will be seen from certain places in the Caribbean region as well as Colombia, Venezuela, Spain, United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal and Iceland. Astrologers have warned against looking at the sun with bare eyes.
Indian media NDTV reports that the total solar eclipse will last for two and a half hours, but the moon will completely cover the sun for 4 minutes and 27 seconds. This solar eclipse will start from 9:42 PM Bangladesh time and will end at 2:52 PM.
Consuming any food or drink during a solar eclipse is considered harmful to health in many places. But scientists have never found any scientific basis for such an idea.
