Remembrance meeting of late veteran actor Ashok Roy Nandi

Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Chairman of Group Theater Federation Liaquat Ali Lucky said, Ashok Roy Nandi's proximity used to make me alive. In art, culture, wherever he went, everyone gave importance to him. He was very selfless. He always gave importance to work.

He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the commemoration meeting of late Ashok Roy Nandi, elder brother of Bangladesh Awami League organizing secretary Sujit Roy Nandy and elder brother Prathitayasha Natyajoddha and general secretary of Dhaka theater organized by theater forum at Chandpur District Shilpakala Academy Auditorium on Friday (May 31) afternoon.

He also said that he has worked in enriching cultural organizations. It seems as if Ashok Roy Nandi is with us at this moment. We are deeply saddened by the loss of that man. If the work is done with honesty then that person does not lack love.

Under the chairmanship of Theater Forum Chandpur president Shahid Patwari and general secretary of Varnachora theater group Sharif Chowdhury, the president of Sammilit Sanshikari Jot Central Parishad, Veer Muktijoddha Golam Quddus, retired additional secretary Dr. Abdul Haque Talukder, Naresh Bhuiyan, one of the leaders of theater Dhaka, filmmaker and actor Gazi Rakayet, Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Group Theater Federation Chandan Reza.

On behalf of the family members, late Ashok Roy Nandi's younger brother Sujit Roy Nandi, organizing secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, commemorated.

Apart from this, Ajay Bhowmik, former general secretary of District Arts Academy, Rupali Champak, executive member of District Arts Academy, Iqbal Hossain Patwari, former president of Press Club, Tapan Sarkar, president of Sammilita Sanstik Jot, secretary general of Liberation War Victory Mela and Chaturanga Sanstik Jot Harun Al Rashid etc. .

The speakers said, if we keep the memory of Ashok Roy Nandi, we may get another Ashok Roy Nandi. He was a big part of the cultural scene. He was an anti-publicity man. He loved the world and was loved himself. He lived like a man. He is not lost from us. He will be with us as long as we are. Although he was a publicity-averse person, it was our responsibility to publicize his activities. But we couldn't do that. We are responsible for this failure. After his death, a funeral was held in Calcutta before the national mourning. This happened because of his actions. His ideology was the ideology of the liberation war. We have to carry this ideal of him. His activities should be presented to the new generation.
