NCC Bank will support Tk 90 lakhs in Bangladesh Rice Research Institute's (BRI) research project related to development of 'Prelude Urea Applicator' agricultural machinery under its special CSR in agriculture sector.
In this regard, on Wednesday (April 17) at the head office of NCC Bank, in the presence of the bank's managing director and chief executive officer (ongoing duty) M. Shamsul Arefin, director general of Bri. Md. Shahjahan Kabir and SEVP and Company Secretary of NCC Bank. Monirul Alam signed the agreement on behalf of his organization.
At this time, the Deputy Managing Director of NCC Bank. Mahbub Alam, Md. Rafat Ulla Khan and Md. Zakir Anam, SEVP and Chief Financial Officer Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, SEVP and CIO Mohammad Anisur Rahman, SVP and Head of Human Resources Syed Hasnain Mamun, SVP of CRM Department M Shahidul Islam and PSO of Farm Machinery and Post Harvest Technology Department Dr. Golam Kibria Bhuya, Principal Investigator and Senior Scientific Officer. Mohammad Kamruzzaman and SO Mizanur Rahman were present.
BRI Director General Shahjahan Kabir welcomed this great initiative of NCC Bank to support agricultural research. He thanked the NCC Bank authorities for their cooperation in the research project related to the development of agricultural machinery 'Preloaded Urea Applicator' used in application of Urea fertilizer with 30% saving in paddy land. He hopes that this device can be used to apply fertilizer deep into the soil, which will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
M Shamsul Arefin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (ongoing duty) of NCC Bank said, NCC Bank has already stood by the farmers as part of its social responsibility in response to the Prime Minister's call. Apart from providing low interest loans, various types of vegetables and jute seeds, fertilizers and pesticides and saplings have already been distributed to more than 15 thousand farmers at the marginal level. In continuation of this, NCC Bank is financing the research project for the development of agricultural machinery used in the application of urea fertilizer on paddy land under special CSR and will also cooperate with other research projects in the future.
