This is how successful woman entrepreneur Tangerina Begum was speaking. She obtained her MSc degree from Eden Women's College in 2000. He started his married life in 1998. She is living in Uttara of the capital Dhaka with her husband and three children. Apart from managing the family, he started his journey as an entrepreneur.
Tangerina was a perfect housewife. But he always kept the desire to do something in the corner of his mind. Despite being highly educated, the husband never needed to work as he was a big businessman. But during the time of Corona, everything came to a standstill, so he was spending his life under house arrest. That's when he started his journey as an entrepreneur.
He said, I started working during Corona. My journey started completely from the year 2021. During the Corona period when people were under house arrest, then the demand for food was at the top level. From then on taking food orders and preparing and delivering them to customers.
But when she prepared school tiffin for her children, other children ate from it and appreciated it very much. The motivation to work with food comes from there. Later during Corona, his daughter opened a page called 'Fresh from the Oven' on social media. There he started giving pictures of cooking little by little. Seeing that, orders started coming from acquaintances. In the meantime, he joined Wee. Then he holds Wei's hand and moves forward with success.
However, despite taking various advices from him, he learned everything by himself. He said, currently, apart from food, I am working on handicrafts, home decor, bed sheets, bridal clothes etc. Everything I do is self-taught. Never trained anywhere.
Handicraft works are mostly done by Tangerina as per her choice. But if the customers ever give a design demand, he also makes it with care. As his works are delicate, they take 2-3 days to complete. Although handicraft work is a little more difficult, he does it as a hobby.
The woman said that she should gradually withdraw from this work. Because people do not look at art in our country. As much as we give importance to dress, good sarees, art is not given the same priority.
Every month he earns well from his own initiative besides taking care of the family. He said, the first income calculation was good. The more active, the more orders are available. But now I can't spend much time looking after all aspects of family and children's education. Still, orders come fairly well in combination with cooked food and handicrafts.
As the handicraft work is a bit complicated, he does not get such experienced people for this work. That is why he does these things alone. But three people are kept for cooking.
Tangerina Begum thinks that social media Facebook is a very necessary medium for small entrepreneurs like her. Because now everything is going on Facebook.
Though not properly trained himself, he feels that training is very important for an entrepreneur. He said, the more training an entrepreneur receives, the more he will benefit. Facebook is now the most important medium for an entrepreneur. There are many details that we don't know. An entrepreneur can easily succeed if trained well in that regard.
Every person wants to change his current position and improve it. Tangerine is no exception. That's why he is trying his best to push his initiative forward despite his busy schedule. He dreams that all his products will cross the borders of the country and reach abroad one day.
