The Seattle Seahawks are gearing up for the start of a new NFL season. They will be taking on the Denver Broncos from Lumen Field, giving Seattle a chance to open the year at home with a win.
However, they may need to do so without the services of one of their star wide receivers. Seattle listed wideout Tyler Lockett as questionable heading into the weekend.
He has been dealing with a thigh injury that limited him throughout practice this week. He did fully participate in practice on Friday and is likely to play, barring any unforeseen issues.
But with these types of injuries, anything is possible.

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald spoke about Lockett’s injury after practice on Friday.
“Tyler (Lockett) looks good. We expect him to play,” said head coach Mike Macdonald after Friday’s practice. “He’s been limited all week, but he’s expected to be out there.”
If Seattle is lucky enough to have Lockett suit up in the game, it could be a massive boost to their chances. He creates a nice wide receiver duo for the Seahawks along with DK Metcalf.
Lockett helps to spread the field out for Seattle, giving them a long-range target. He has developed a nice chemistry with quarterback Geno Smith and is crucial to the Seahawks finding any success this season.
Last year, Lockett put up 79 catches for 894 yards and five touchdowns over 17 games played. It was the first time in five seasons that Lockett didn’t surpass the 1,000-yard mark for the year so he will be looking to create a new streak this season.
The former Kansas State product has turned himself into one of the more productive players in the NFL on the offensive end of the field. The hope is that Lockett can play so Macdonald has his guys out on the field for his debut as the head coach.
He was the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens over the last two seasons and now gets his chance to be a head coach. Macdonald spoke about his excitement heading into Week 1 of the NFL season.
“I’m excited to see our guys play,” Macdonald said. “They’ve been working really, really hard. They’ve earned the opportunity to go out there and showcase the work that they’ve put in. Me personally, I’ve still got some work to do between now and the game, so I’m focused on that. Then when the game hits, I’m sure it’ll hit pretty hard, but it’s not time yet.”
Whether Lockett actually suits up or the debut for Macdonald is a success will all be determined starting at 4:05 E.T. when the two teams kick off their season.
