Seliste's statement admitting responsibility for the murder

Selisti Rahman gave a confessional statement in the court, admitting the responsibility of killing MP Anwarul Azim Anna of Jhenaidah-4 Constituency.

On Monday, he gave a statement in Dhaka's Additional Chief Metropolitan Hakim Tofazzal Hossain's private room.

Before noon on this day, the investigating officer of the case presented Senior ASP Mahfuzur Rahman Selisti of Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) to the court.

He mentioned in the application that during the remand interrogation of the accused Selisti, he admitted that he was involved in the murder of Anar.

He is also willing to give a confessional statement admitting responsibility in the court.

Later, on the application of the investigating officer, the court recorded his confessional statement. He gave his statement till 8 pm.

After the statement, he was sent to prison.

According to court sources, Selisti Rahman's statement was recorded after a long time. The Magistrate stated in the statement that Selisti was healthy and had voluntarily given the statement.

SI Jalal Uddin, general registration officer of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station of Dhaka court confirmed the confession to the media.

On May 31, the court remanded Amanullah Aman alias Shimul Bhuiya Selisti Rahman and Tanveer Bhuiya on 5-day remand.

Earlier, on May 24, these three were remanded for eight days. Before the expiry of the five-day remand period, Selisti gave a confessional statement.

The other two are in DB custody.
