Shaheen's luxurious bungalow in a remote village, traveling to Anwarul

Elangi Bazar of Kotchandpur Upazila of Jhenaidah. Being Ajpara village, it is quiet all around. There is not much population. From Elangi Bazar, one kilometer along the empty field road, the border of about 25 bighas is surrounded by barbed wire fence. In the middle is a huge luxury bungalow.

No one can enter beyond the barbed wire fence. None of the workers in charge of bungalow maintenance are from Kotchandpur. The main gate of the bungalow house is often locked during the day. But the gate is opened almost at night. Strangers come there in expensive cars. Stranger women are also there.

Aktaruzzaman Shaheen, the mastermind behind the murder of MP Anwarul Azim, owns this huge bungalow in a remote village. They were mutual friends. Anwarul Azim used to travel there because of that friendship.

Shaheen, an American expatriate, came back to the country after a few months. When he came to Jhenaidah, he lived in this bungalow in a secluded area. On Thursday (May 23) afternoon, going to that bungalow, it was seen that the main gate was closed. No one was seen inside. Later, RisingBD's correspondent captured some scenes of Bungalowbari from the sky with the help of a drone camera.

Anwarul Azim, a Member of Parliament elected from Jhenaidah-4 (Kaliganj) was murdered in Calcutta, India last 13. While investigating this murder, the name of his close friend Aktaruzzaman Shaheen came up. Since then, the police are looking for him to arrest him.

According to sources related to the investigation, Anwarul Azim was murdered on the night of May 13 in the rented flat of Aktaruzzaman in Kolkata's New Town. Before that, Aktaruzzaman came to Bangladesh on May 10 after plotting the murder in that flat. His accomplices stayed in the flat. After Anwarul's murder, Aktaruzzaman took a flight from Dhaka to Kathmandu via Delhi on Monday (May 20).

Aktaruzzaman Shaheen Shaheen, son of Kotchandpur, became a marine engineer and went to work in Chittagong region for some time. After a few months of work, he left and started business in Dhaka. He was involved in various businesses in the country and abroad. But no one in the village can tell what his business was. Everyone in the area knows that he once moved to the United States and did business there. Sometimes he would come home and leave again. However, he used to spread money and spread influence in local politics and when elections came.

The 25 bigha bungalow has a large pond. There is a duplex building surrounded by glass. Another building can be seen next to it. There is a swimming pool in front of the building. Each room has air conditioning. There are hundreds of CC cameras in the security of the bungalow. Besides, there are lawn mowers and a microbus.

MP Anwarul Azim's childhood friend Golam Rasul said that the relationship between Anwarul and Aktaruzzaman is about 30 years. The MP went to that Banglabari twice with him (Golam Rasul). Went once four months ago.

Ghulam Rasool said he was shocked to see the bungalow, where foreign dogs, many employees, decorated with VIP furniture.

Some of the villagers said on condition of anonymity that this bungalow was built on about 25 bigha of land 6 years ago. They never got inside. However, while working in the field, he saw through the barbed wire gap. At night, lights are lit around the barbed wire. But no one can know what is happening inside. But saw big cars coming at night. Women were also seen in that car.

Aklima Khatun of Elangi village said that she saw the member of parliament Anwarul Azim coming to that bungalow after the last parliamentary elections.

Aktaruzzaman Shaheen's brother and Mayor of Kotchandpur Municipality Sahiduzzaman Salim said, 'We have seen in newspapers and magazines that my brother's story has come up with the killing of the MP. If he is found guilty in the investigation, then he wants to be punished. But it is not believed that my brother can do such a thing.'
