Signal number 3 in port, warning of 10 foot tide

The deep depression over the East Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal is likely to develop into a cyclone around 9 pm on Saturday. If it takes the form of a cyclone, its name will be 'Remal'. This cyclone was named after Oman.

Azizur Rahman, Director of Meteorological Department, confirmed this information at around 2 o'clock on Saturday. He said, in the meantime, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payarabandar have been asked to lower warning signal number 1 and display warning signal number 3.

Azizur Rahman said that the cyclone may become stronger as it passes through the middle of the ocean. Tomorrow Sunday 6 pm to 9 pm can pass through Khepupara. The influence of the front may remain on the coast since afternoon. High tides can reach heights of 7 to 10 feet. And at low tide there can be a tide of 5 to 7 feet.

During this time, the temperature may drop by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius across the country. Azizur Rahman also said that it can decrease up to 7 degrees on the coast.

Fishing boats and trawlers stationed in the North Bay of Bengal and deep sea have been asked to proceed cautiously close to the coast until further notice. Also they are told not to wander in the deep sea.
