Singra Upazila Election: Delwar Hossain is winning unopposed


Lutful Habib Rubel, brother-in-law of State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak has withdrawn his candidature from the upcoming Singra Upazila Parishad elections. As a result, another chairman candidate Delwar Hossain is going to be elected unopposed.

Lutful Habib Rubel announced his withdrawal from the election in a video message sent to the journalists of Natore on Sunday (April 21) morning. A few hours later, District Election Officer and Returning Officer Abdul Latif submitted a written request to Sheikh regarding the withdrawal of nomination papers. He said that it is not possible to participate in the election due to personal and family reasons.

Confirming the matter, District Election Officer Abdul Latif Sheikh said that Lutful Habib Rubel withdrew his nomination paper through authorized representative Minhaj Uddin.

Two candidates filed nomination papers for the post of chairman in Singra Upazila Parishad elections. After verification, the returning officer Lutful declared the nomination papers of Habib Rubel and Delwar Hossain valid. Delwar Hossain is on course to be elected unopposed as the only candidate after Lutful Habib Rubel withdrew his nomination papers.
