Sit-in program and protest to demand setting up of sugarcane mill in Setabganj

People from all walks of life of Tobganj staged sit-in programs and protested to start sugarcane crushing at Setabganj sugar mill in Dinajpur. On Sunday (August 18), a sit-in program was held at the main gate of the sugar mill, Setabganj, calling people from all walks of life. After the sit-in program, a protest march was held.

The public and the workers of the sugar mill raised various slogans in protest demanding the opening of the sugar mill. Sumon, Moshiur Rahman, Ujjal, sugarcane farmer Badruddoza Bapan, Sabuz, Ziaul Haque, Limon etc. spoke in the short road meeting. The speaker demanded to start sugarcane crushing of Setabganj sugar mill immediately.

It is noted that Setabganj sugar mill has suspended sugarcane crushing operations since 2020.
