27 people have died in the ongoing floods in the country so far. And in 11 districts, 56 lakh 19 thousand 375 people have been affected, said Farooq E Azam, adviser to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
He gave this information in a press conference on the ongoing flood situation at the Secretariat on Tuesday (August 27) afternoon.
The relief adviser said that till now the number of flood affected districts is 11. The total number of affected people in 11 districts is 56 lakh 19 thousand 375 people. There are 12 lakh 7 thousand 429 water-locked families. 74 upazilas flooded and 541 affected unions/municipalities.
He said that so far 27 people have died in the flood. Among them, 10 died in Comilla, one in Feni, 5 in Chittagong, one in Khagrachari, 5 in Noakhali, one in Brahmanbaria, one in Laxmipur and three in Cox's Bazar.
