Sohan's death after 39 days with a bullet in his body, has been accused

Shohan Shah (29) of Sreepur Upazila of Magura was shot during the program of anti-discrimination student movement. For 39 long days with a bullet in his chest, he finally crossed to the land of no return.

On Thursday (August 29) afternoon, Altaf Hossain Mahila College Road in Sreepur Sadar went to Shohander's village house and saw mourning going on in his house. Shohan's mother is fainting again and again. His father is staring blankly. His wife's lamentation never ceases.

Sohan's wife Shampa Begum's lamentation is not stopping at anything. Shampa Begum said, 'They got married on November 19, 2017. After that for three years, the two started a family together in Dhaka. For the rest of the time Shohan worked in Dhaka leaving his wife with the family in the village. Our middle class family. Due to financial crisis, he lived alone in Dhaka. Due to money, the two could not stay together. A new house was given to the house last year. He told me, Shampa, you and I will stay in this room.'

Shohan told Shampa at CMH in Dhaka on Tuesday, 'Don't cry. nothing will happen to me But Shohan did not return. The bullet was surgically removed from the body but the bleeding could not be stopped. Shohan could not be saved even with 18 bags of blood. Although there was a shortage in the world, there was no lack of love. I had no one but my husband. He has always stood by me in all situations. He used to say, don't worry, I am by your side. Allah has not given me a child. How can I live now?'

Sohan's father Shah Sekender said, 'My son is smart, hardworking and responsible since childhood. Earning since childhood. Especially after marriage, he did not sit for a day. If there was no job, he came home and worked as a mason. He used to pay my pocket money. On the morning of his death, Vikas sent me 1,000 rupees and said, “Take this money and leave.”

While mourning the loss of her son, Shohan's mother Sufia Begum said, 'My son understood my heart. If something was hidden, he would understand. He used to send money and say, “Mom, don't keep it, buy whatever you want, I'm here.” I will not let you die without eating my income.” Sufia Begum said, “Who will tell me this now? Everyone is there, only my son is not.'

It is known that Shohan went to work to take care of the family about 10 years ago after completing higher secondary from Sreepur Degree College in Magura. He was working as a mechanical engineer in a garment factory in Rampura area of ​​Dhaka. His father Shah Sekender closed his business more than a decade ago and became unemployed. His only younger brother is in class VIII. All the expenses of parents, wife and schoolboy younger brother came from one's salary. To save money, he left his wife at home with his parents and was working in a mess in Dhaka. New houses were being built in village houses. Where Shohan wanted to have a happy family with his wife. But their dream was not fulfilled. Shohan was shot dead in Dhaka's Rampura area on July 19. He died 39 days later on August 27 while undergoing treatment at Dhaka's Combined Military Hospital (CMH). Last Wednesday, Shohan's body was buried at the house of Sreepur village after the post-mortem at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

According to court sources, on July 24, Deputy Inspector (SI) of the police station filed a case under Special Powers Act and Explosive Substances Act at Sreepur police station. Abdul Khalek. Names of 95 people were mentioned as accused there. 150 to 200 people are shown as unidentified accused. Shah Sekender's son Shohan (written as Sekender Shah) is named as accused number 18 in the statement of the case. It is said in the complaint that on that day (July 24) at around 6 am, the accused gathered at the Altaf Hossain Mahila College ground in Sreepur and created panic among the people by detonating cocktail bombs.

In this regard, Shah Sekender said, 'I think, knowing that he was shot, the people of the area and the police conspired and made him an accused in the case. I want justice for all the crimes, from shooting my son to denying medical treatment to filing false cases.'
