Son's body on father's shoulders, mourning the loss of a child; No one will understand it

'The son's body on the father's shoulders, mourning the loss of a child; No one in the world will understand this. Nothing is heavier than that. Only one who has lost a child forever can understand the pain of losing a child.' Shahidul Islam Bhuiyan, father of martyr Farhan Fayyaz, who was shot dead in Dhanmondi area of the capital, was speaking in a tearful voice.

Recently, he told reporters at his residence at Circuit House Road in Shantinagar of the capital that his son's full name is Mohammad Farhanul Islam Bhuiyan. Nickname is Ratul. Farhan became known as Fayyaz after joining the student-Janata movement and was martyred in the firing by the government forces.

Farhan Fayyaz, a student of Dhaka Residential Model College, was shot and killed in a shoot-out by police and armed cadres of Awami League along with the protesting students demanding cancellation of quota reservation in government recruitment in Dhanmondi area of the capital.

Shahidul Islam, Fayaz's father, said, 'Farhan liked to live in a calm and quiet environment since childhood. Where there was quarrel and trouble, he avoided it. A boy who couldn't bear the slightest pain, used an umbrella when it was raining, used an umbrella when it was raining, used a local bus to go to college if he didn't call an Uber, how could that boy go to such a big movement? I can not think!'

He said, 'Today's boys' free roaming on Facebook or other social media, some might have inspired him. A group of friends called, a college teacher also offered to give free August salary to students to go on the agitation. Farhan got so involved in the quota reform movement that he even told his ninth grader sister at home, 'Hey Farin, why aren't you going to the movement? You should go to the movement.'

He said in an emotional voice, 'Farhan showed his keen talent and intellectual personality in his childhood. Everything would be mastered with a little reading. Apart from reading his college textbooks, he also read university books to keep himself a little ahead of the competition. His reading table is lined with books by various authors on physics. We were optimistic about Farhan.

Shahidul Islam Bhuiyan said that Farhan's dream was to grow up to be a physicist, to return home with a higher degree from abroad and involve himself in the welfare of people. He used to read the books for university admission. Understands fundamental physics. He said, to approve his quality, he will check his quality by taking admission test in Buet, then go for higher degree in UK. It was his dream project.

At that time he lamented and said, 'Farhan loved to eat pizza, pasta and burgers. Ordered a pizza online on July 17, the night before his death. I opened the door and took it and handed it to her. After eating, he goes to bed around 10:00 or 10:30. No more talking, with the father again. We have a lot of pain and suffering. Our only son was martyred for the country. In exchange for his sacrifice, this Bangladesh has become independent again. It is both comforting and painful for us on the one hand.'
