The Republic of Korea has announced to give 10 million US dollars in 2024 as humanitarian aid to the Rohingya refugees who have taken refuge in Bangladesh.

On Tuesday (August 20), the Korean Embassy in Dhaka said that this humanitarian aid will be provided to Bangladesh through the international organizations UNHCR, IOM, WFP and UNFPA this year.

Since 2017, the Republic of Korea has continued to cooperate with the Bangladesh government and international organizations for the Rohingya. Accordingly, it continues to pay 3 to 5 million US dollars annually. This year's fund is three times more than the previous year's fund. This is the largest amount of humanitarian aid for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.

The Republic of Korea hopes that Korea's funding will contribute to the implementation of the Joint Response Plan (JRP) 2024 and the necessary humanitarian assistance for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.
