Like everyone else, Anup Kumar Pal also had a dream to take over a helpless poor family after completing his studies. But terminal cancer has stood in the way of realizing his dream.
Anup is 23 years old. His village Ratandia, Upazila Kalukhali, District Rajbari. He passed SSC in 2017 and got admission in Civil Technology at Faridpur Polytechnic Institute. Shortly after admission, a tumor appeared above the knee of his left leg. Later, cancer was detected through biopsy after the operation of the tumor from Faridpur Medical College. Then he was shown to Bangabandhu Medical University. Here 6 cycles of chemotherapy are given by expert doctors. Anup continued his studies despite cancer. He completed Diploma in Civil Technology in 2022 with CGPA 3.84.
Anup was admitted to Christian Medical College in Vellore, India in 2018 for advanced treatment. After undergoing 45 radiotherapy sessions at CMC, he returned home fully recovered. He used to go to India every year for medical checkup and lead a healthy life. After 5 years in December 2023, as a result of checkup in India, it is known that the cancer has spread to Anup's lungs.
He has been given chemotherapy 3 times in India. So far he has spent more than 20 lakh rupees for his treatment. He will undergo surgery at CMC Hospital in India later this month. This operation will cost approximately more than 10 lakh rupees. Later, radio therapy and other ancillary costs will be around 5 lakh rupees.
His father Adhir Chandra Pal somehow supported the family by selling clay pots. He sold the land and with the help of his relatives he continued his treatment till now. It is not possible for the helpless poor family to continue this expensive treatment. In such a situation, a helpless father appealed to the countrymen for help to save his child's life.
