Students will go on hunger strike if the vice chancellor resigns

Khulna University (Khubi) Vice-Chancellor Dr. Students do not want Mahmud Hossain's resignation. They have announced that they will sit on hunger strike if the vice-chancellor resigns.

On Sunday (August 18) around 4 pm, students of the university gathered in front of the administration building to stop the resignation of the vice-chancellor and started chanting different slogans and demanded to stop his resignation.

The students said they have learned from various sources that a group has become active to remove the vice-chancellor and that he may resign by this afternoon. Concerned by this news, they quickly came to the administrative building and took a position.

They also said that if the vice-chancellor resigns, they will start a hunger strike from that moment.

At one stage of the protest, the vice chancellor said. Mahmud Hossain came out of the administration building and came in front of the students and asked them to remain calm.

He assured the students and said that your demand today is one of the many achievements of my teaching and administrative life. But I work with a team as a vice chancellor. Any decision must be taken by talking to that group. Until then I am the Vice-Chancellor. I want to tell you this, I have never taken any decision based on someone's words, and I will not take it in the future.

Later on the Vice Chancellor's assurance, the students calmed down and went in front of the main gate of the university and started raising slogans in favor of the Vice Chancellor.
