On the other hand, District A-League General Secretary Noman Bakhat Palin publicly and local MP Ranjit Sarkar behind the scenes have sided with the current Upazila Chairman Iqbal Al Azad.

In this, the campaign of two A-League candidates has accumulated in Jamalganj. The other candidate is President of Upazila BNP (expelled). Nurul Haque Affindi is desperately trying to get out of the fight between the two.

BNP-Jamaet has a huge vote bank among the local voters (Sylhety voters) here. They did not go to the polls in the recently held national elections. This time also the party leaders are campaigning not to go to the polls. If they can be brought to the polling station, the electoral calculation will be one of a kind. Moreover, the clear division of the A-League has helped create a positive position in the polls.
