The army recovered and handed over the looted weapons in Gazipur

After August 5, the army recovered the looted weapons and ammunition from various police stations of Gazipur and handed them over to the district administration. Members of the 14th Field Artillery Regiment of the Army handed over weapons and ammunition at the District Commissioner's Office premises on Monday (August 19) at noon. Later those weapons were handed over to the police through the mediation of the Deputy Commissioner.

The weapons recovered by the army include – three shotguns, 332 rubber bullets of shotguns, 43 rounds of lead ball cartridges, four rounds of Tarash pistols, eight rounds of bullets, eight empty magazines of Tarash pistols, two China rifle barrels and 31 rounds of bullets, two empty magazines of SMG, 38 m. Mr. Tear gas cell long range 85 t. Also one pistol, one single barrel gun, one double barrel gun, 10 single barrel gun barrels, 10 double barrel gun barrels, one shotgun barrel, five lead ball cartridges.

Deputy Commissioner Abul Fateh Mohammad Shafiqul Islam said that no legal action will be taken against those who voluntarily surrender the looted weapons from Gazipur Metropolitan and District Police Stations. If any looted weapon is recovered from anyone during the raid, he will be treated as a criminal.

Lieutenant Colonel Lutfar Rahman, Captain 14 Field Regiment Artillery, Deputy Commander Major Asif Iqbal, Gazipur District Superintendent of Police Kazi Safiqul Alam, Additional Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police Iltut Mish, Gazipur Metropolitan Police Sadar Zone AC Fahim Asjad and other army officials were present.
