The central bank will give 23 crores for the flood victims

Bangladesh Bank will give Tk 23 crore to help the people of Feni, Lakshmipur, Comilla, Noakhali districts which were affected by floods recently. This information was informed in a circular signed by Bangladesh Bank Director (Communications and Publications) Mahua Mohsin on Thursday (29).

According to the circular, 22 crore taka will be paid from Bangladesh Bank's disaster management and social responsibility fund to the chief adviser's relief and welfare fund and one crore taka equivalent to one day's basic salary from the salaries of Bangladesh Bank officers and employees for the month of August 2024, i.e. a total of 23 crore taka.

Apart from this fund, 5 crore rupees will be given to the foundation to be formed with the help of the victims of the 'July Revolution'.

It was informed in the notification that the Bangladesh Bank Board of Directors (BDB) has taken this decision in the 436th board meeting held (Wednesday, August 28) taking into consideration the overall context of the country including the economic crisis and flood situation.
