The Chairman of Eastern University is Barrister Safayet Mohammad Raju

Barrister Safayet Mohammad Raju has been elected as the Chairman of Eastern University Foundation and Board of Trustees for 2026.

He was given this responsibility unanimously at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Foundation and Board of Trustees held at the University campus on Saturday (January 10).

In the meeting, University Board members Engineer Khandaker Mezbah Uddin Ahmed, Liaqat Hussain Mughal and SK Saidur Rahman were elected as Vice Chairman of Eastern University Foundation for 2026 and Ismail Zabiullah as Treasurer.

The former chairman presided over the meeting. Moniruzzaman Molla. The AGM reviewed the remarkable progress of Eastern University in recent years and laid emphasis on achieving excellence in research and development as well as ensuring higher education of international standards. At this time, the vice chancellor of the university, Dr. Farid Ahmad Sobhani and members of the Board of Trustees were present.

Barrister Safayet Mohammad Raju is a famous lawyer of Bangladesh. He is actively involved in various business and social enterprises. Hope was expressed in the meeting that under his leadership, Eastern University will gain a stronger position as one of the leading private higher education institutions in the country.
