The directive given by the ministry in the case of forcing the resignation of heads of educational institutions

After the fall of the Awami League government in the face of the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5, there was a demand for the reform of educational institutions across the country. Due to this, incidents of forcing the employees of various organizations to resign are happening.

In this situation, the Ministry of Education has ordered to stop the forced resignation and harassment of teachers to ensure a fair environment for education.

The Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education gave this instruction on Tuesday (September 3).

According to the guidelines, there are cases of resignation or removal of university, college and school principals or other officials based on various complaints in different parts of the country. In the existing situation, a letter has been issued from the secondary and higher education department requesting the district administrators to keep in touch with the teachers, students, parents of the educational institutions and to supervise the maintenance of the overall fair environment and inform the secondary and higher education department if necessary.

But it is observed that in various levels of educational institutions of the country, forced resignation of teachers and harassment in various ways are still happening which is not acceptable in any way. Education and Planning Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmood has expressed concern and called for stopping such activities.

The advisor further directed that the competent authorities will investigate and take appropriate action against the teachers and officers who have allegations of corruption and misdeeds. The concerned authorities have already been instructed to identify the violators involved in illegal and criminal activities and take action against them as per existing laws.

It is for the benefit of the students to maintain a clean environment in their classrooms. It is requested to take necessary activities to increase awareness among students and related parties in this regard.

Education advisor Wahiduddin Mahmud gave instructions on August 25 that no force can be used to resign in educational institutions.
