The High Court ordered the appointment of a receiver to look after the assets of Beximco Group

The High Court has ordered the appointment of a receiver to look after all the companies of the Beximcor Group owned by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's private investment advisor Salman F Rahman. Bangladesh Bank has been instructed to implement it.

The High Court bench of KM Asaduzzaman and Justice Muhammad Mahbub ul Islam gave this order on Thursday (September 5).

At the same time, the High Court has issued a ruling seeking to know why Bangladesh Bank should not be instructed to disclose the amount of outstanding loans of the Beximcor Group companies.

Ritkari lawyer said that Bangladesh Bank has been asked to respond to this rule within the next four weeks.

Advocate Masood R Sobhan heard the writ in court. Deputy Attorney General Redwan Ahmed Ranjib, Assistant Attorney General Mujahidul Islam Shaheen were representing the state.
