The job aspirants have announced to continue their agitation without clear assurance from the government

Job seekers have blocked the road in Shahbagh of the capital demanding that the age limit for entering government jobs be increased to 35 years. They have announced that they will continue the agitation until the government delegation arrives.

The job seekers announced this on Saturday (September 7) afternoon.

Activists said the minimum age limit for applying for jobs in 162 countries around the world is 35 years, some of which are open. The developed countries of the world including India have made the minimum age limit of 35 years for the application following many studies and international standards. But we only have 30 years. We do not accept this discrimination in new Bangladesh.

Movement coordinator Russell Al Mahmud said, we had a sit-in program until 3 pm. A committee from the government will come to discuss with us, he said. We will end the rally if the demands are guaranteed through negotiation. Otherwise the movement will continue.

Then around 5 pm Russell Mahmud said, discussion is going on about us. Will update here later. Until then we will stay here. We have not given any program outside Shahbagh. If anyone has given any kind of program, we will bring him under accountability.

Earlier, a rally of job aspirants started in front of the Shahbagh National Museum in the capital around 11 am on Saturday. Later they stayed at Shahbag intersection around 1 pm. At this time, traffic in Shahbagh area was completely stopped. As a result, severe traffic jams were created on all the roads in Shahbagh area.
