Faisal Karim Masood, the main accused in the shooting death of the convener of Inkilab Manch, Sharif Osman Hadi, fled the country to India immediately after the incident, sources related to the investigation have confirmed. According to intelligence, he crossed the border into a neighboring country within 12 hours of the attack.
The investigation revealed that the destruction of important evidence was planned immediately after the murder. In the statement of two accomplices of the already arrested accused Philip, Faisal and one of his accomplices entered India using the Bhutiapara border.
The intelligence agency's technical analysis identified the IP address of the mobile phone used by Faisal. Investigators said he was located in the Indian state of Maharashtra on Wednesday. It is also reported that he is currently maintaining communications using India's Reliance Telecom network.
Although the two main accused in the murder are still at large, the investigation is almost clear about the entire murder. Officials related to the investigation said that after returning to the country in July this year, Faisal Karim established contact with Masood Kamal, Rubel and Mainuddin. The investigation revealed that all of them are related to the banned Awami League and its organizations.
### How the murders are planned
According to intelligence information, Faisal and his associate Kabir went to Inkilab Cultural Center located in Banglamotor at 8:18 pm on December 4. Staying there for about six minutes, they tried to build rapport with Sharif Osman Hadi and offered to work together.
Then on the night of December 9, Faisal went to the center again, accompanied by his new associate Alamgir. In that meeting, the election campaign was discussed and Faisal entered Hadi's campaign team through it. On December 12, they took part in direct campaigning at Segunbagicha.
According to the investigation, the final planning of the assassination was done only after joining the campaign team. The movement of Hadi in different areas including Narsingdi, Savar and Manikganj is reki. On December 11, as part of preparations, Faisal stayed at his sister's residence in West Agargaon.
On the day of the attack, Faisal and Alamgir went to a resort in Hemayetpur by Uber. CCTV footage showed their car entering the resort at 5:22 am on Friday. Faisal's girlfriend Maria and her sister were already there.
According to investigation sources, the plan of the attack was finalized by showing a video of Hadi at the resort and all communication was ordered to be stopped after the incident.
Later at 11:05 PM they left Agargaon house on a motorcycle and joined Hadi's campaign at Segunbagicha. When Hadi left for Motijheel at 12:22 PM, the accused gave chase.
After Friday prayers at 2:16 pm, Hadi was on his way to Paltan from Motijheel when two shots were fired at him at close range at 2:24 pm in the box culvert area—which eventually led to his death, the investigation revealed.
