In view of the increase in the price of acid gold (ripe gold) in the local market, the price of gold has been increased in the country's market. This time, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold (11.664 grams) has been increased by Tk 4,502. The price of one load of good quality gold has been set at Tk 1 lakh 15 thousand 450.
This decision was taken in the Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee meeting of Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) on Tuesday (May 7). This information was informed in the circular signed by Masudur Rahman, chairman of the committee.
According to the notification, this price has been increased in view of the increase in the price of acid gold (seasoned gold) in the local market. These prices will be implemented from tomorrow, Wednesday (May 8).
According to the new prices, the price of one bar of best quality or 22 carat gold has been increased by Tk 4,502 to Tk 1,15,450. Besides, the price of gold per 21 carat has been increased by Tk 4 thousand 304 to Tk 1 lakh 10 thousand 201.
Earlier, the price of gold was increased in two rounds on May 4 and 5. On May 5, the price of gold was increased by Tk 735 per bar and on May 4, the price of gold was increased by Tk 1,500 per bar. Now the price of gold has increased by 6 thousand 287 taka in three steps due to the increase in price.
Before the price increase, the price of gold was reduced by 10 thousand 262 rupees in eight rounds. Among them, 1 thousand 878 taka, 30 April 420 taka, 29 April 1 thousand 115 taka, 28 April 315 taka, 27 April 630 taka, 25 April 630 taka, 24 April 2 thousand 99 taka and 23 April 3 thousand 138 taka were reduced.
