Principal of Jadundi Navkam Palli College of Saltha Upazila of Faridpur. The students were accused of beating Obaidur Rahman with a hammer. Later, the students forced him to sign the resignation letter.

The incident took place in the college around 10 am on Thursday (September 5).

The students of Navkam Palli University College complained that Principal Obaidur Rahman has been doing corruption and irregularities since joining the college. College students were harassed by the police without supporting the anti-discrimination student movement. Since the fall of the dictatorship, we have been agitating for the resignation of this corrupt principal. I have also made a human chain. Finally on Thursday he resigned of his own accord. We are happy with that.

However, the principal of Navakam Palli College is the victim. Obaidur Rahman said, when my son and I entered the college on Thursday morning, students Lalon, Monir and some students, members of the terrorist group of the local influential leader Qayyum Molya and the member of the college management board Kamrul Gazi, forced us down the car and took us inside a garden. They took our father and son there and beat them with hammers and injured them. Later, some non-students and some students forced me into a room and asked me to sign the resignation letter.

He also said that most of the protestors are students. Basically, Kamrul Gazi, showing his power, submitted a fake bill of 1 lakh 70 thousand rupees to me a few months ago. He was angry that I did not sign the bill. Since then Kamrul Ghazi and Qayyum Molya followed me. Finally, he beat me and forced me to sign the resignation letter. I want a fair investigation into the incident and demand justice for the attackers.

However, Kamrul Gazi, a member of the college management board, denied these allegations and said, “I am in the Faridpur office.” I don't know anything about these things. Principal is only spreading false propaganda in my name. Attempts were made to contact Qayyum Mola but he could not be reached.

After receiving the news, I along with the army and the police went to the spot. At that time, there was no truth in the complaints of the students. Later we settle the incident. At this time, the students gave a written statement that they will not protest again.

But suddenly beat the principal and forced him to sign the resignation letter. It is by no means desirable. The current education advisor is also against it. I sent the army and police to the spot after receiving the information. I asked to file a complaint at the police station. He said that legal action will be taken after proper investigation of this incident.
