The secretary's status written about DU's new VC is viral

Dhaka University (DU) has been appointed as the new VC professor of the University's Development Studies Department. Niaz Ahmed Khan. He was appointed as the 30th VC of DU. The status written by his known secretary Abu Hena Morshed Zaman on social media about him has spread.

Amma was transferred from Sylhet MC College to Chittagong College in the late seventies. Just opposite Chittagong College across the road – Chittagong Government High School. I got admitted there. The reputation of collegiate, Muslim high schools was the highest in Chittagong city then. On the other hand, even though it is a hundred years old school, our school, which has just changed from a junior school to a high school, is a little behind.

In the midst of this challenge, the first batch of SSC got good results. The most famous student of this batch is probably Shaheed Mahmud Zangi Bhai. Who is known as one of the best lyricists of the country. Sirs and madams used to talk Abdullah Al Muti Sharfuddin Sir is a student of this school. Who else will bring such a reputation for the school?

There was no Chittagong Board yet. When 40 thousand boys took the exam in arts from Comilla board, it was difficult to get 40 first division. At that time, the second batch of the school shook in SSC. Our school is sitting first in the merit list of Comilla Board in Humanities, not Faujdarhat Cadet College, not Comilla District School, not even collegiate. I went to Chittagong College. Niaz bhai is one batch senior to me. We are both direct students of my mother. Niaz Bhai is first in the board in HSC. Pressure on me again! Next year I am fourth on the board. How to deal with Niaz Bhai?

I went to university. Niaz Bhai is in Public Ed, next year I am in Political Science. Niaz brother my friend Lt. Col (Retd) Irshad was published by the newspaper 'University Magazine'. I followed him and shouted – 'Come'.

Honors A Niaz Bhai First Class First. Next year in my department I lost first class for three marks and second class first. As usual he is first class first in Masters. So will I next year. I was able to touch him that one time in my life. He joined the university. I joined varsity next year and joined civil service. I am done with intellectual practice.

Niaz Bhai kept running, got his PhD from Wales, got a post doc from Oxford, became famous at home and abroad by doing amazing research, came to Dhaka University and became one of the country's best academicians from a colorless teacher who was free from factionalism. Apart from academia, military and civilian bureaucrats also started teaching in various institutions. Honest, pious, down-to-earth, well-educated, this man did well by working on various projects, also demonstrated his administrative skills as Pro-Vice Chancellor of a private university. He has the Midas touch – gold results wherever he touches it.

Even after I joined the civil service and became a secretary, to his regret-forever I remained a scoundrel, did not progress much in my studies. He gave me the opportunity to do PhD under him – I didn't do it due to busyness. Does that decrease his love for me? Never possible.

Teacher, administrator, researcher, writer, honest, religious, color and partyless Niaz Bhai is the best choice ever as the VC of Oxford in the East. Guaranteed to close his eyes, let him work freely.
The varsity of 'Cha-Singara' will change, I am more than sure.

No congratulations to him, for all that he has done throughout his life, this appointment is only a small achievement for him. Our country's profit is more than that in this appointment.

Prayers and love for Niaz Bhai. You are our idol for life. Made us proud. If everyone, including the 'Facebook pundits' of this unfortunate country, let you really work, you will make us proud again inshallah.

I will really forget the sorrow of not studying more then. Stupid me will get a PhD in that. Our idol dear Niaz Bhai, keep shining as a star as always.
