The students bid farewell to the dean by reciting the Quran and praying

Dhaka University (DU) Dean of Faculty of Arts has issued a condolence notice to the students around Quran recitation in Battala. Abdul Bashir was forced to resign by a group of university students. However, he said that he had already decided to resign.

Professor Bachir resigned on Monday (August 19) afternoon. After his resignation, the students took his permission and recited to him from the Holy Qur'an. Besides, the students prayed and prayed for his well-being.

Azizul Haque, a student of the 2019-20 academic year of the university, who is leading the resignation movement, said, “We entered the Faculty of Arts around 12:30 noon. Bachir sir was called from the class. At this time we ask him to resign. He then announced his resignation along with other deans. We ask him to resign without accepting this.

After the resignation of Professor Dr. Abdul Bashir said, I had already decided to resign. I would have resigned today even if the students had not come here today.

Earlier, on March 10 of this year, a group of students of the Arabic department of the university organized a Quran recitation program to welcome the month of Ramadan at Battala of Dhaka University. Later, the former dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Bachir, wants a written statement to the chairman of the Arabic department, Zubair Muhammad Ehsanul Haque, as to why the students involved in the event will not be punished.
