The victory of the elder brother defeating the younger brother in Taltali

Elder brother Moniruzzaman Mintu won the post of upazila parishad chairman after defeating younger brother Rezbi-ul Kabir Jomaddar. He got 20,396 votes. The nearest rival candidate younger brother Rezbi-ul Kabir Jomaddar got 18,413 votes.

It is known that Upazila Awami League President Rezbi-ul Kabir Jomaddar and former Upazila Parishad Chairman Upazila Jubo League President Moniruzzaman Mintu and former Upazila BNP Member Secretary Mostafizur Rahman took part in Taltali Upazila Parishad elections.

Among them Rezbi and Moniruzzaman Mintu are maternal cousins. There is fierce rivalry between the two brothers. In the election results, the younger brother defeated the current upazila parishad chairman Rezbi-ul Kabir Jomaddar and the elder brother Moniruzzaman Mintu won the chairmanship. In the 2019 elections, elder brother Moniruzzaman lost to younger brother Rezbi-ul Kabir Jomaddar.

Taltali Upazila Executive Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Sifat Anwara Tumpa said that Moniruzzaman has won the post of chairman unofficially.
