The wound has been raised due to the water of Feni

On August 20, the people of the area tried to block it with sandbags as the water started entering the Ban water through the broken part of the dam in Feni's Parashuram. But in the evening, Kashinagar village of Mirza Nagar union collapsed due to strong current. In this situation, TomTom driver Sohag and his wife Halema built a semi-furnished house in the village adjacent to the dam in the savings of the poor family. Meanwhile, the couple is disoriented as it also disappeared in the water of Ban.

Halema said, we could not save anything. There is nothing in the house. I am bringing a cloth of Khailla Pindan on the road. How to do the house now, I can't say it myself.

On the other hand, some are also assuring the victims of housing. But Halema is worried about where to make the house. Because, in addition to the destruction of his house by the stream of water, the place of the house also collapsed into the pond.

According to him, people are looking forward, I used to give a place to the house. There is no other place except this (house).

Feni was the most inundated by the floods caused in 12 districts of the country in the middle of August by the upstream hill slopes and continuous rains. According to locals, they have never seen a flood like this before. Due to the flood, the homeless people climbed up to the balconies or stairs of the houses of the local neighbors.

Nine houses in Kashinagar, including the house of Sohag-Halema couple, have been completely destroyed in this flood. Zarina Akhtar's house has also been broken. Unable to find a way, he went to the balcony of the neighbor's house.

Locals said that Parashuram was first affected by flood on July 1. Then on August 2, the dam broke and water entered Mirza Nagar. After the temporary repair of the dam, on August 20, heavy rains and torrential water broke several parts. Water enters through these places causing terrible floods.

Visited some villages of Mirza Nagar and went to Tulatali market and talked with the local people. According to them, there was a flood after the change of government. The chairman and members of the Awami League supported area have also covered their necks. As a result, they do not know how the names of flood victims will go to the local administration. Also, they are worried about whether they will get help at all.

In this regard, Parashuram Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Afroza Habib Shapla told the media that the upazila administration has started the work of preparing the list of affected people from Saturday. We have told higher authorities, various NGOs and many others, we do not need relief now. Building materials are needed. The most important thing now is to arrange accommodation for the victims.

On the question of whether the affected people and the situation of the area are getting correct information due to the lack of public representatives in the area, UNO said that it has created problems in all areas in the national context. We have made a committee consisting of ward students in each ward. They are taking pictures of various affected areas and giving them to us. Hope we get the real picture.
