According to the notification, due to severe heatwave, classes will be closed in colleges affiliated to the National University until further notice.
Earlier on Saturday noon, educational institutions were declared closed for 5 days due to the severe heat wave going on across the country. All educational institutions will be closed till next Thursday, April 25. But since there is Friday-Saturday after that, the closure has been delayed for 7 consecutive days. Schools and colleges will open from April 28.
Meanwhile, two deaths due to heat stroke have been reported in Chuadanga and Pabna due to intense heat. A man named Zakir Hussain died of heat stroke while working in the field at Damurhuda in Chuadanga on Saturday morning. And one person named Sukumar Das (58) died of heat stroke in Pabna on Saturday afternoon.
On the other hand, the Meteorological Office has issued a heat alert for three days across the country due to intense fire. It was issued last Friday. Meteorological office says that the temperature will remain high from Saturday. At this time, the Meteorological Office has instructed everyone to proceed with caution to avoid the heat.
