Shakib Al Hasan has been fined 10 percent of the match fee for violating the code of conduct, the ICC said in a statement on Monday (August 26). Originally, Shakib threw the ball at Pakistani batsman Mohammad Rizwan while bowling on the fifth day. Field umpire Richard Cattelborough was quite surprised. Later the matter was reported to the match referee.

According to the ICC Code of Conduct, a fine of 5 percent of the match fee is imposed for every over in the allotted time. Pakistan lost by 10 wickets in Rawalpindi after 6 overs. On the other hand, as per Test Championship rules, 1 point is deducted for each over.

Emirates ICC Elite Panel match referee Ranjan Madugale decided the punishment for both teams. Pakistan were six overs short of the time target and Bangladesh three overs short. Pakistan captain Shan Masood and Bangladesh's Nazmul Hossain accepted the sanctions by pleading guilty, so a formal hearing was not required.

Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan, the all-rounder of the Bangladesh team, has been hit with an additional fine. He was fined 10 percent of the match fee. Committed a level one offense of the ICC Code of Conduct. According to ICC rules, throwing the ball at a cricketer during a match is a punishable offence. The incident happened in the 33rd over of Pakistan's second innings. This left-arm spinner was bowling then.
