Case of 'attempted infiltration' against former Justice Manik
According to the notification, the followers of fascism still exist in various forms in various parts of the state system and governance structure. People are still witnessing the evils of the fascist system. On the other hand, there has been a lack of progress in the restructuring of state institutions, policy making sensitive to public interest, and proper prosecution of mass murderers as prerequisites for a new political settlement.
Through mass upheaval, we have gained new political language and community potential. We have to work to turn that potential into reality. So that it is possible to build a new Bangladesh through this newly formed political community.
We held a meeting last August 23 from a place of civic responsibility to mobilize the people to cooperate with the government formed through mass uprisings and hold them accountable, moreover to cooperate in formulating policies in the public interest. It was decided to form a citizen's committee based on the opinion of the guests who came to the meeting. This committee will ensure urgent reforms and restructuring of the state by uniting the people with the aspirations of a mass upheaval.
Several courses of action were discussed in the meeting:
1. To keep alive the democratic aspirations of the martyrs and injured people of the popular uprising.

2. To work for expansion of the committee to metropolis, district, upazila.

3. Integrating social, cultural and religious leadership at all levels of the country in a coordinated manner.

4. Conducting review and making recommendations in place of setting state policy as per the intent of the People's Revolution.

5. To form a Constituent Assembly and organize a public consultation to draft a new constitution.
