Türkiye launched an airstrike targeting the Tishreen Dam in Manbij, northern Syria. Meher News reported the news on Tuesday (December 10) with reference to the Energy Department related to the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Forces (SDF).

According to the report, Tisrin Dam, located 80 km from the Turkish border, was originally built for the purpose of generating electricity. After the airstrikes, electricity was cut off in many parts of northern and eastern Syria. The Department of Energy called for immediate intervention in these areas to prevent humanitarian disaster and protect critical infrastructure in northern and eastern Syria.

Incidentally, the 54-year-old family rule in Syria collapsed last Sunday in just 12 days of the rebels' 'battle' campaign. President Bashar al-Assad fled the country to Russia after losing to the rebels.
