Minister of Social Welfare Dr. Dipu Moni said, 'We are Bengalis. We have our own culture and history. There is no point in trying to erase this culture and history.'

He said, 'those who want to set religion against culture are enemies of the country. Those owls, tigers are all part of our folk culture.'

He said these things while inaugurating the month-long Bengali cultural festival organized by Chandpur Press Club and sponsored by Chandpur Municipality as the chief guest on Friday (April 12).

Under the chairmanship of Chandpur Press Club President Shahadat Hossain Shantar and moderated by former President Rahim Badsha, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bashir Ahmed, Additional Superintendent of Police Yasir Arafat, Chandpur Zilla Parishad Chairman Osman Gani Patwari, Chandpur Municipal Mayor Zillur Rahman Jewel and others spoke as special guests.
