Though the flood waters receded somewhat, the suffering did not

Due to the rains and upstream flows, the river water in Comilla and Noakhali has reduced a little, but the water in the localities is coming down slowly. A few villages have been flooded again. Meanwhile, the people of Banvasi are suffering from acute shortage of food and clean water.

On the other hand, various unions of Brahmanpara upazila have been newly flooded in Comilla. The communication system is broken. In Chouddagram and Nangalkot, Banvasis are spending days without food due to the relief crisis.

Relief supplies are not reaching Noakhali properly due to lack of watercraft. Relief aid is not reaching some areas of Senbagh, Begumganj, Sonaimuri and Sadar due to lack of watercraft. However, the water in the rivers has decreased in Moulvibazar. Although hundreds of houses are still submerged. And as the situation in Habiganj has improved, most of the people have returned home from the shelter.

The Meteorological Office says that the water of all the rivers in these areas, including Feni-Comilla, is decreasing. However, due to the possibility of moderate rainfall, the water in these areas may remain stable.

The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief said that more than 10 lakh families are still under water in 11 districts flooded by floods. More than 700 medical teams are working to provide medical services in the affected areas.
