Today is BNP's 46th founding anniversary

The 46th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is Sunday (September 1). BNP will hold its foundation anniversary event on a limited scale with the aim of expressing sympathy and standing by the helpless people affected by floods.

BNP Deputy Secretary Taiful Islam Tipu confirmed the matter on Saturday (August 31) evening.

Secretary General of the party Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the program of the 46th anniversary of the party includes hoisting the party flag at the party offices across the country including the central office on Sunday (September 1), paying tribute at the shrine of the party's founder and freedom proclaimer Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman at 11 a.m. People's sufferings will be eased and doa mahfil for seeking forgiveness of those killed in the recent anti-discrimination movement.

He said, at the same time, we will pray for the recovery of BNP chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and the acting chairman of the party, Tariq Rahman, to return to the country. The expenses of this year's founding anniversary of BNP have been paid to the relief fund set up for the flood victims.

The general secretary of the party said, due to the flood, the 6-day program of our foundation anniversary will be reduced and only the foundation day will be celebrated informally.
