After Iman, the most important act of Islam is Salat or Namaz. Prayer is the life of Islam. The big difference between a believer and an unbeliever is prayer.
In addition to the five obligatory prayers, there is provision in Islamic Shariah to perform Nafal prayers. Prayer protects people from all the bad and unjust actions of the world.
